Tony DeBone has deep roots in Deschutes County civic life, starting long before his time as Commissioner. His service and memberships demonstrate a lifelong commitment to building stronger, safer, and more connected communities.

  • Chair of the CORE3 Steering Committee (2022-2023) and Executive Council 2024 - 2025 - Tony DeBone has led the multi-agency effort to develop Central Oregon's Ready, Responsive, Resilient (CORE3) emergency training and coordination center. This groundbreaking facility—now advancing with major state funding ($32.5 Million)—brings together first responders, law enforcement, fire services, and emergency personnel to enhance disaster preparedness and response across the region.

  • State Interoperability Executive Council - Chair — appointed by the Governor and representing the Association of Oregon Counties — Tony DeBone leads statewide coordination to ensure seamless, reliable emergency communications for first responders across Oregon, enhancing disaster response and public safety for communities like Deschutes County.

  • Central Oregon Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Team (COARECT) Team member and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) (member) - COARECT is a group dedicated to providing radio communications during emergencies and natural disasters.  They support local emergency management, including partnering with local health clinics and operating a Mobile Interagency Communications Unit (MICU).

  • American Cancer Society's Real Men Wear Pink Ambassador 2025 - Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Tony proudly participated in the campaign by wearing pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. He supports ACS efforts to provide resources, raise funds, and stand with families facing breast cancer—because community health matters to all of Deschutes County.
